Week 4 Fit Test Results

Hey Everyone!

So I'm really excited to share my results with you!  But first, in honor of my Paleo Rant yesterday, I am sharing this first:

Minus a little guilty-party privacy editing, this is exactly what greeted me when I got on the computer this morning.  Three screenfuls of this to be exact.  I was not a happy camper (but I still like you and your pins oh guilty one ;).  They were all Vegan too, hahaha.  I guess every diet has its dark side!  I may have clicked on some of them.  There were these Chocolate Covered Cake Batter Balls, O.M.G.  I am a serious batter lover.  I'd rather eat the batter than than final product any day.  I have not been back on Pinterest since this happened.  I hope it's gone by now...

After those shenanigans, I had breakfast:

Ham and egg scramble, topped with leftover grilled peppers and onions, and avocado.  (If it looks overly salty, that's because I forgot to salt my eggs.  Eggs need salt, period.)

Before lunch I did my last day of Week 4 Insanity and it was the last time in the nine week program that I'll be doing that set of videos.  I'm so glad; I was seriously burning out on them.

Now to head off any confusion, my eats and day-to-days are always from the day before I post.  Sometimes, if it's a fit test or a weigh-in well, I just can't wait to share the news with you so I post that with the previous days events, haha.

I was so hungry after my workout I grabbed a Paleostick, and got to work on this easy peasy quick lunch:

Broccoli and salmon burger.

Sarah helped me with dinner by gobbling down all my diced red peppers:

Showing of a mouthful of red peppers.  Her poor nose is sore from all the wiping this last week!

I swear I don't favor any of my children; Sarah just tends to have more conveniently timed need-to-capture moments.  Also, she is the only one always allowed in the kitchen... Mostly because I can't keep her out of it!  Every time she sees me cooking she grabs her stool and parks it right next to me to "help".  If I cross the kitchen to do something on another counter, she gets down, picks up that stool and moves it right next to me again.  I've got a chef-in-the-making I do believe!

Typically meal time includes three stools set up and no where for the cook anymore.  Calliegh is actually quite helpful, pouring pancakes, stirring eggs, grinding pepper, etc...  Becca is only there for snacking purposes.  Which gets her in trouble with Calliegh.  Which starts a ridiculous amount of bickering.  Which leads to two girls getting kicked out of the kitchen.  And finally leads to taking sequestered turns helping mommy in the kitchen :)

So, I have been lackadaisically (thanks for the awesome new word Amanda!) trying to eat "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper" but, I don't know when half-hearted ever got a job done.  Certainly not in this case.  It's deeply engrained in me that each meal builds up to one huge dinner; I'm not sure how to change that!  So, probably needless to say but my dinner was big.  But in my defense it was quite vegetably.  This whole plate had 1/4 pound of grass-fed organic beef, and the rest were veggies!

So now lets get to the Fit Test Results!

I'm pretty thrilled with my results!  I honestly was not expecting to see much improvement.  The most surprising improvement to me were the globe jumps.  It's a four jump move with a squat, totaling 1 rep)  Check out the move here.  The other move I'm surprised over and most proud of are the push-up jacks.  I doubled my previous number!  Coming from me who could barely even do girl push ups before!

I was getting really, really pooped especially when I got to the suicide jumps (better known as burpees) and I almost didn't do them.  But I decided that was silly and I'd at least beat my previous number, and when I did that, I went just one further.  Rest comes after you get it done!

Beyond these results though, I've learned to push myself and not half-ass my workouts.  I really earned these improvements!  Also, my balance is better, I've somehow learned to land softer, and I'm gettin' me some guns (the arm kind ;).  I'm looking forward to Week 6!

So there you have it guys!  There's a comment box below if you want to tell me how awesome I am.  Just kidding.  Kind of :D  Have you tried Insanity?  If so, what were your results like?

  1. You keep up being awesome with the body, and I'll keep up providing awesome new words. ;)

You're doing great! Keep inspiring! Really wishing we were still neighbors so I would feel more compelled to work out. It's harder to not work out when your buddy can come knock on your door and drag you outside. Haha
